1. About these terms

These terms apply to your use of this website, operated by William Ho in Hong Kong (“FireLog”, “we”, “us”). By using the site you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

2. A product in development

FireLog is in development. Features described on this site, including the example screens, show what we are building and may change, be delayed or not be offered. The example building and records are illustrations, not real data.

3. Not legal or professional advice

Information on this site, including the self-check, is general information only. It is not legal, fire-engineering or other professional advice, and it does not tell you whether you comply with the Fire Services Ordinance (Cap. 95), its regulations, or any code or guidance.

Using FireLog does not make you compliant and does not transfer any of your legal duties to us. You remain responsible for your own obligations. Please take professional advice for your situation.

4. Accuracy of legal and regulatory information

We describe laws, proposals and guidance from public sources as at the dates shown. Some describe proposals that are not yet law and may change. We try to keep this accurate but do not guarantee it is complete or current. Always check the official source.

5. The free pilot

Pilots are by invitation and run under a separate written agreement that sets out what each side does, how records are handled, and how either side may end the pilot. Nothing on this site is an offer that can be accepted to form a contract. We may decline or end pilot arrangements at our discretion before an agreement is signed.

6. Fees and refunds

We do not take payments through this website, and the pilot is free of charge. Any future paid service will be provided under a written agreement that sets out its fees, payment terms, cancellation and any refunds. “Founding-partner terms” will be agreed in writing with each pilot partner.

7. Intellectual property

The content, design and software of this site belong to us or our licensors. You may view and print pages for your own business use. You may not copy, republish or sell them without our written permission.

8. Acceptable use

Do not misuse the site, including by trying to gain unauthorised access, disrupt it, or use it for anything unlawful.

9. Third-party services and links

The site uses or links to services run by others, such as WhatsApp (Meta) and Google Fonts. Their own terms and privacy policies apply, and we are not responsible for them.

10. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, the site is provided “as is”, and we are not liable for any loss arising from your use of it or reliance on its content. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under Hong Kong law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

11. No government affiliation

FireLog is an independent business. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by or acting for the Fire Services Department, the Property Management Services Authority or any government body. Their names are used only to describe public laws and guidance.

12. Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. The courts of Hong Kong have non-exclusive jurisdiction.
